In 2016, Rho Phi Lambda partnered with the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc at Stop Hunger Now, a non-profit focused on providing food for disadvantaged families, for several meal packaging events. Key to the program is a series of meal packaging events, where volunteers package the meals. The meals are highly nutritious and comprise of rice, soya, dehydrated vegetable mix and a fortification pack of 23 essential minerals and vitamins specifically formulated to combat malnutrition (complying with the UNICEF standard). The meal packaging event is a fun and engaging way for volunteers to be part of the drive to end child hunger. The men of Rho Phi Lambda worked to package 10.000 meals in under two hours.
